Food Grade Cling Film — Food Packaging Film for Supermarkets and Processors
Food Grade Cling Film — Food Packaging Film for Supermarkets and Processors
SUNWRAP food grade cling film is a food-contact packaging film engineered for supermarket chains, central kitchens, hotel and restaurant groups, and food processors. It is available in both PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and PE (polyethylene), is FDA-compliant and SGS-tested, and is produced in a food-grade cleanroom environment by Ningbo Sanrong New Materials Co., Ltd. — a Korean-invested manufacturer operating since April 2004 and recognized as one of China’s top-ten cling-film brands.
This page is the right starting point if you source under buyer specs that say “food grade cling film,” “food packaging film,” “food safe cling film” or “cling film for food packaging” — the terminology buyers in the Philippines, India, the UAE, Indonesia and Egypt actually use in their RFQs. Whether you sell into supermarket fresh counters, restaurant back-of-house, or retail consumer aisles, we can match the specification from stock or from a scheduled production run.
Key benefits
- Verified food-contact compliance. FDA-compliant, SGS-tested, with migration test reports on file and ready to send on request.
- Two materials, one supplier. PVC for high-cling supermarket tray wrap; PE for microwave-safe, PVC-free retail SKUs. One factory, one export contact, one shipment.
- Proven formulation. The same food-grade cling film is sold in Korea, Japan and China under the SUNWRAP / SYC brand — you inherit 20 years of commercial track record.
- Consistent quality. Thickness tolerance, clarity and cling are controlled in-line during extrusion; retained samples are archived against every export lot.
- Export-ready packaging. English plus local-language labels (Arabic, Bahasa, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi), neutral cartons, or full private-label artwork — whatever the destination buyer needs.
Specifications
Food grade PVC cling film runs 8–15 µm thick, with widths from 250 to 500 mm and lengths up to 5000 m on jumbo rolls. Food grade PE cling film runs 9–20 µm thick, with widths from 250 to 450 mm and lengths up to 500 m for consumer packs (jumbo on request). Both materials are produced under the same food-grade cleanroom conditions, with FDA-compliant food-contact formulations and SGS-tested migration behavior. PVC is the stronger self-cling material and is cleared for –20°C to +60°C; PE is microwave-safe for short reheating and freezer-tolerant down to –40°C.
Applications / Who uses this
- Supermarket and hypermarket chains — fresh-meat, seafood, poultry, produce and deli tray wrap; retail consumer cling film SKUs.
- HORECA groups (hotels, restaurants, catering, banquet) — kitchen storage and service.
- Food processors, central kitchens, ready-meal makers — inline tray and container wrapping.
- Bakeries, cake shops, sandwich chains — portion and display wrapping.
- Importers and private-label brands — own-brand retail cling film lines for general trade and modern trade.
PVC or PE? Quick guidance
If the film is going onto a supermarket tray-wrapping machine at a fresh counter, default to our PVC food grade cling film — it has the clarity and self-cling the application demands, and it is the lower-cost option per square meter. If the film is going into a retail consumer box marketed as “microwave-safe” or “PVC-free,” default to PE. If you are not sure, tell the export team what the end use is and we will recommend — we have no interest in selling you the wrong material, because cling-film buyers repurchase for decades when the first specification is right.
Manufacturing and quality control
Our Ningbo Qianwan New Area plant in Cixi was commissioned in 2025 after relocation from the original Dalian facility, and now runs multiple PVC lines plus a brand-new PE line commissioned the same year. Total group investment stands at RMB 400 million. Incoming resin is batch-tested; extrusion is monitored in-line; finished rolls are checked for thickness uniformity, clarity, cling, odor and visual defects. Every export lot is accompanied by an internal COA, and the SGS food-contact migration report covering the relevant formulation is available on request.
Shipping and export
Food packaging film is exported under HS code 3920.43 / 3920.49 (PVC) or 3920.10 (PE). Default quotation is FOB Ningbo; CIF and CFR to your destination port are available. Our plant is approximately 40 km from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port — the world’s number-one port by cargo volume — which typically means same-day trucking to the terminal and short waiting times at peak season. Typical ocean transit: 3–5 days Ho Chi Minh, 5–7 days Manila / Bangkok, 7–10 days Jakarta, 15–20 days Alexandria, 18–25 days Jebel Ali / Lagos.
Custom options

Frequently Asked Questions
Is SUNWRAP cling film genuinely food-safe?+
Yes. Both our PVC and PE cling films are produced to food-grade standards, comply with US FDA food-contact regulations, and carry SGS test reports covering the standard migration parameters. Existing product labels already state FDA compliance, and the same formulations have been sold in Korea, Japan and China for more than 20 years.
Which is better for food packaging — PVC or PE?+
Neither is universally better — they solve different problems. PVC has stronger self-cling and higher clarity, which is why it dominates supermarket fresh-meat and produce tray wrapping. PE is PVC-free, microwave-safe and freezer-tolerant, which is why it dominates home-use retail SKUs and ready-meal lines. Most of our export buyers source both from us.
What test reports can you provide?+
We provide SGS food-contact migration test reports, FDA-compliance declarations and an internal COA for every export lot. For specific destination markets, we can also arrange additional third-party testing on request (cost quoted case by case).
What is the MOQ for food packaging film?+
One 20GP container for jumbo rolls; 500 cartons for finished consumer packs. Smaller trial orders and mixed PVC + PE loads are negotiable for new buyers.
Do you export to the Philippines, Indonesia, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia?+
Yes — these are our primary export markets. We ship regularly from Ningbo-Zhoushan Port with typical transit times of 5–7 days to Manila and Bangkok, 7–10 days to Jakarta, 15–20 days to Alexandria, and 18–25 days to Jebel Ali.
Can the label and packaging be in English plus a local language?+
Yes. English is standard, and we routinely print labels and color boxes with Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Vietnamese, Tagalog and Hindi secondary text for the respective markets.
